Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' is a cultivar of Cercis canadensis, commonly known as eastern redbud. It is a small, deciduous tree that grows up to 20-30 feet tall and wide. Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' produces showy, pink-purple flowers in the early spring, followed by heart-shaped, reddish-purple leaves that mature to a deep green color. In the fall, the leaves turn yellow, orange, and red. Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade, and is often used in landscaping as a specimen plant, or in a mixed border.
