Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata' is a cultivar of Carpinus betulus, commonly known as European Hornbeam. It has a narrow, upright growth habit, and produces a dense, pyramidal crown. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade, and is often used in landscaping as a hedge, screen, or specimen plant. Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata' is also a popular choice for use in topiary and pleaching.
